Maintenance Technician
Overview:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include startup and shut down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, boiling work, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, or other systems. Reports to Chief Engineer.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
-
Install, repair, and maintain large industrial processing equipment. Provide preventative and corrective maintenance for this equipment and for the facility in general.

Repair and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, PC, air, power.

Perform plumbing, 3 phase electrical equipment, carpentry, boiler repair, welding, and general facility repairs.

Answer and resolve daily maintenance requests in a timely fashion, so that minimal down time is experienced, and operational processes are continually improved.

Work with all plant personnel in a cooperative and professional manner.

Strictly adhere to all safety rules, policies and procedures required by Shared Hospital Services.

Remain current on equipment and repair procedures. Properly use power and hand tools.

Keep accurate and timely records of maintenance performed.

Follow written and verbal instructions and perform other tasks as directed by supervision.
Additional Functions:

Drive and pick up parts, transport parts, etc.

May work with and support other plant personnel as required by supervision.
Qualifications:
-
Have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Minimum of two years maintenance engineering experience with specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, strong in electronic trouble shooting, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welder, and boiler applications.

Proficiency in the proper use of power and hand tools.

Strong electrical troubleshooting ability of 3 phase systems.

PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.

Excellent attendance record.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ability to comprehend and follow direction, perform basic math, good time management skills and be a team player.

Strong in the use of machinery schematics and drawings.
Education:
-
High School graduation or similar experience.

Qualified to hold a driver’s license.
Typical Physical Activity:

Physical Demands/Requirements during the shift - Standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, kneeling, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs., driving, sitting, writing, speaking and hearing.
Typical Environmental Conditions:
-
Inside and outside areas of a typical industrial laundry facility, which includes working with and around large machinery, variations in temperature, sound, orders, humidity, lint, and dust, in general offices or on outside grounds.
Travel Requirements:

Occasional, such as procuring parts.
All other duties may be assigned by management.
